Estimate the number of drywall sheets required to cover a room's walls and ceiling. Select standard sheet sizes (4x8 or 4x12) for accurate material planning.
4x12 sheets reduce the number of seams you have to tape and mud, but they are heavier and harder to maneuver.
Measure the perimeter of the room and multiply by ceiling height. Don't forget to subtract large windows or doors if you want precision, or keep them for waste buffer.
Standard sheet 4x8 = 32 sq ft.
