Calculate frequency and duty cycle for a 555 timer in astable mode. Determine the component values needed for pulse generation and clock circuits.
In Astable mode, the 555 timer outputs a continuous stream of rectangular pulses (a square wave) without needing an external trigger.
It is difficult to get exactly 50% with the standard circuit because the charging path goes through R1+R2 while discharging goes through R2 only. Modifications are needed for a perfect square wave.
F = 1.44 / ((R1 + 2R2) * C)
